February 9th, 2009 Bob Olsen was awoken to a fire in his bedroom that left his leg with third degree burns. He lost many things in the fire that night, but not his determination. After seeing the outpouring of love and support that he received, Bobby wanted to pay it forward the best he could and his sights were set on SRRC. He began collecting money from customers at the Southside Shell and received many donations from family and friends. His first year he raised $663 and he has increased his goal year after year.
This is Bobby’s 14th year raising money to give back to his community after his fire, and we are so very grateful that he chose Starved Rock Regional Center to take under his wing. Bobby continues to set enormous goals to reach year after year and it’s because of friends like you that he repeatedly hits and exceeds his goals. Having raised over $46,000 over his time fundraising he is ready to break the $50,000 mark this year and has even set a goal above and beyond that at $4000 for 2024.
As Bob Olsen’s special friends and family, we thank you so much for your support during his many years fundraising for SRRC®. Bob’s efforts to let children soar to their potential are only reachable with your help. Will you be a part of Bobby quest to reach his record breaking goal this year?
