Meet Audrey
Audrey Nink is a sweet, loveable, smart and adorable toddler who happens to have Autism Spectrum Disorder. She enjoys Peppa Pig and Bluey toys, music,
singing and dancing to songs, jumping on her trampoline, climbing on the swing set and playing barbies with her big sister (Elliana).
When Audrey was 9 months old, her parents (Hannah and Brandon) were concerned that she didn’t speak at all and was not yet sitting up. At 15 months
old she was still not walking and was consistently missing her speech milestones. Her parents contacted Lurie Children’s Hospital to schedule an Autism screening and were recommended to SRRC for services. Audrey started receiving services with SRRC at 18 months. She received Developmental Therapy with Kelly Bault and Speech Therapy with Emma Schueller.
At 26 months Audrey was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and started Occupational Therapy with Gladys Reyes and Toddler Class with SRRC.
Since starting services with SRRC, Audrey has made incredible progress. Her speech development, socialization, and ability to follow directions have greatly
improved.
Her parents are so grateful for SRRC. “Her therapists are amazing. I have reached out to them for resources and advice, and they always are very helpful. I love how they incorporate learning into play and I trust them completely,” said Audrey’s mom, Hannah Nink. “Before we were referred to SRRC, I had never heard of the agency, but I am so very thankful that they are in our community,” she said.
