New Therapy Center!
In July 2025, we proudly expanded by purchasing a new building to relocate our therapy services. This move not only provides a modern, dedicated space for therapy, but also allows us to expand our team and welcome a new occupational therapist—enhancing the care and support we offer to children and families.

What is Early Intervention?
Early Intervention refers to services and support designed to help babies and toddlers (birth to 3 years) who have developmental delays or disabilities—and to support their families.
Early intervention may include a variety of services, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and developmental therapy, tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and family. These services are publicly funded, providing free or reduced-cost care for children who meet the state’s criteria for a developmental delay.
Our goal is to ensure every child has the support they need to grow, learn, and reach their full potential from the very start.

Act Early
The first three years of a child’s life are a period of remarkable brain growth and development—by age two, a child’s brain is already about 80% of its adult size. Because the brain develops so rapidly during this critical window, early identification and support are essential if there are any concerns about a child’s development.
Early Intervention services play a vital role in supporting children during this period. These services can significantly enhance a child’s ability to acquire new skills, build confidence, and set a strong foundation for future success in school and in life.

The Autism Resource CenterThrough the support of The Coleman Foundation, The Autism Program, Illinois Department of Human Services, Hope Institute, and private donations; SRRC has been able to establish The Autism Resource Center. Since 2011, the Center has operated solely through local donations. The Autism Resource Center contains a wide variety of resources including visual supports, books, computer software used to create visual schedules, DVDs, games, structured teaching kits, learning aids, and other materials that address various issues affecting individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families, and the professionals with whom they work.
We currently have approximately 300 resources that can be borrowed for two weeks at a time at no charge. While we have several visual prompts already available, families and professionals can also create and individualize their own. They can be printed and laminated at no cost. We encourage you to visit the Autism Resource Center, which is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 to 5:00.
