Our Adventurers classroom was created for those children around 5 years old until they go to Kindergarten. This classroom is designed to help establish the rules, expectations, and routines needed to help your child be successful in Kindergarten. The teachers use a formal, theme-based curriculum to guide children into the world of reading, writing, math, and science. In terms of reading skills, phonics and whole language methods are used to help strengthen literacy. The academic activities continue to fuel children’s excitement for learning throughout the day and emphasizes literacy, science, math, music, and creative expression. Children engage in hands-on activities, imaginative play, and community learning. The program includes nutritious meals, outdoor play, rest time, and family events. Parent-teacher conferences are held to communicate the progress seen in your child and talk about the next steps.

Miss Maggie

Miss Maggie holds an Applied Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently working on her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University. Maggie LOVES having fun with her students. She enjoys taking them on field trips, having class parties and bringing their families in to make wonderful memories. In her free time, you can catch her coaching Shepard Middle School's dance team, reading or doing puzzles.

Ms. Heather has been with SRRC for about a year. Heather is passionate about working with children and has always aspired to be in this career.
